The Secretary General of the Association of Banks of Montenegro signed an agreement on representing NASO before the European Payment System with the representative of the company Paylume from Brussels, co-founder Mr. Kjeld Herreman, who will be our representative in the Working Group for the development and maintenance of the scheme at the EPC. Mr. Herreman said „It has been a true privilege for Paylume to support the Montenegrin banking community in the implementation of European payment methods, and we are deeply honoured to support the Banking Federation and the CBCG in their continued progress”.
For the sake of clarification, synergistically, together with the CBCG and the National Board for the Payment System in Montenegro, NASO will participate in the management of schemes, changes to schemes, monitor all future SEPA changes and ensure the implementation of changes to schemes with all the necessary documentation, rules and instructions, keep the register of participants for each scheme (the register of banks that have joined a particular scheme) and ensure that participants follow the rules of the scheme. The Board is operationally managed by the Association of Banks of Montenegro, although participation in the Board is not conditional on membership in UBCG. All banks in Montenegro that are members of any of the schemes are also members of the Board, so they equally make decisions and manage the national schemes.
National bodies responsible for coordinating the establishment of the SEPA project in a member state meet at the EU forum of national SEPA coordination committees at the European Commission, where they get to know each other about activities in other member states, discuss issues of common interest with EU bodies, and exchange information and experience in the SEPA migration process. The representative of Montenegro from the Montenegrin committee for SEPA coordination will participate in the work of the EU forum of national SEPA coordination committees at the European Commission.
