On 14 January, 2021, a meeting was held in the Parliament of Montenegro between the President Mr. Be\u010di\u0107, his advisor Mr. Go\u0161ovi\u0107 and associates, and the President of the Association of Montenegrin Banks of Montenegro, Mr. Rabrenovi\u0107 and the Secretary General Mr. Pejakovi\u0107. The current activities and certainties regarding the postponement of of the implementation of the laws crucial for banks’ operations were discussed at the meeting.<\/p>\n
Mr. Rabrenovi\u0107 pointed out the situation the banks are facing, from formal legal issues, to parallel processes that take place in banks, which put great pressure on the resources of banks.<\/p>\n
The President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr. Be\u010di\u0107 pointed out that he was familiar with the issue through communications with the Finance Minister. There is an awareness that the positioning of each bank should be taken into account, respecting the size, potential, and logistics that some banks receive from parent banks, while banks that do not have such support enter processes with more effort, where the focus must be on the system and its stability. Mr. Be\u010di\u0107 informed the participants in detail about the process and procedures of adopting the laws and resolving procedural obstacles, where he expressed an optimistic view to a positive solution and legal formal shaping of the framework for banking operations.<\/p>\n
